#TravelDeeper ~ Get lost in Palermo!

A market anywhere is great place to get local flavor!

Getting lost is one of the best ways to find a place.

When I go somewhere, anywhere, I usually do some research. I try and learn what makes a destination unique. I have a list of places I want to visit and things I want to see and do — and eat. I also like just wandering. Getting lost.

I don’t know the name of the square I was in. I can just tell you the food and atmosphere were wonderful!

When you travel, peek down alleyways, get off the beaten path.

Palermo is legendary for its street food. I stumbled upon one of the most fabulous piazzas I have visited anywhere in Italy in Palermo. I found it without any maps, just wandering. Looked down an alleyway and saw some smoke from a grill and heard it call my name. Get lost when you travel!

I could’ve spent a day in just this one square!

I love to people watch — and eat. Just this one square in Palermo (anyone know which one I was in?) could’ve kept me occupied for an entire day — or week! I saw and learned more in the couple hours I spent lingering there than I did on a collection of guided tours in other places. #TravelDeeper when you travel. Linger when you can!
